Tip 1: Sphere in the television tower
It's so obvious - and yet you might not have thought of it straight away. Up there, where your eyes automatically wander when you're standing on Alexanderplatz, there's a restaurant!
Celebrity chef Tim Raue has taken over the iconic, imperceptibly slow-turning Restaurant 2025 and added his own culinary signature . Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner - a visit to Sphere will be an unforgettable experience. Just remember to book your table in good time.

Tip 2: Pressecafé and BEAST Berlin
This location is also hard to miss. The listed building, in which you will find the BEAST steakhouse and the Pressecafé , stands out with its striking façade design. The frieze by Willi Neubert shows various motifs relating to press work, such as journalists, newspapers or people consuming media. In the GDR, this part of the building, which is part of the publishing house, was a meeting place for press people.
Today, you can enjoy the historical flair while savouring an exquisite selection of meats on the first floor or having breakfast by the book in the press café on the ground floor.

Tip 3: Dine with Wilde Matilde
Wilde Matilde is a mixture of coffee klatch with the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, variety show and colourful circus. If you like small, colourful petit fours and large teacups, then don't miss this spectacle. Wilde Matilde also has the right offer for savoury appetites in the form of schnitzel, goulash and more. A highlight of the interior is the bar, which evokes childhood memories with its design in the style of a historic carousel. Booking is recommended.

Tip 4: Dolores Burritos will put a smile on your face
If you want to eat spontaneously, quickly and really well, head for Dolores in Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße. Here you can get burritos filled to the brim, rich salads and delicious tacos - but our absolute favourite are the burrito bowls. You can put these together yourself - vegan, vegetarian or with meat - or choose a suggestion from the menu. They are served with homemade corn chips to die for.

Tip 5: Classic Italian at Piazza Rossa
Ristorante PIAZZA ROSSA is located right next to the Rotes Rathaus in the centre of Berlin's hustle and bustle. If you like Italian food without a lot of frills, but with honest craftsmanship and good ingredients, this is the place for you. The menu includes antipasti, pizza, pasta and classic meat and fish dishes. There is also homemade ice cream and a carefully selected wine list. Many people come here on their lunch break, while others enjoy a cosy end to the evening.
Directly above the restaurant is the huge Deiters costume shop, which invites you to marvel and smile. There really is everything here - from scary masks and traditional costumes to unusual party decorations.

Tip 6: Craft beer and hearty food at Lemke
A hearty snack and an original Berlin craft beer await you in the cosy atmosphere of Biermeisterei Lemke. If you're not in the mood for alcohol, the Helle or Pale Ale is also available as a non-alcoholic version.
Not far from Alexanderplatz, at Hackescher Markt, you can take part in guided tours of the brewery in German and English and learn more about how the delicious Lemke beer is made. Simply reserve a place on one of the regular tours on the brewery's website.

Fans of Asian delicacies can choose from a wide range of dishes at Eden. Here, too, you have a large selection of non-alcoholic alternatives.

You can also eat in style at Fischer & Lustig, which is located in the centre of Berlin's historic cradle, the Nikolai Quarter. It is just a ten-minute walk from Alexanderplatz. The menu in this restaurant focuses on fish, as the name suggests. Freshness, seasonality and regional ingredients take centre stage.
In addition to classics such as matjes or zander fillet, you will also find surprising creations such as pumpkin risotto with smoked trout. It goes well with a glass of Riesling or Berlin craft beer. In summer you can sit in the cosy courtyard, in winter the cosy interior makes for feel-good moments.

Tip 10: Burgermeister - a Berlin original
If you see the word "Burgermeister" written in bright green letters, you can be sure that a delicious burger and crispy fries are in sight. The cult snack bar was founded in 2006 in a disused toilet under the underground bridge at Schlesisches Tor. The founders wanted to prove that really good burgers can also be served in unusual places - with success.
Today, Burgermeister has long been a Berlin institution. Juicy patties, fluffy brioche buns and homemade sauces meet creative combinations such as chilli cheese or avocado bacon. Vegetarian options are of course also available. Eat on rustic benches with a view of the colourful hustle and bustle of the city.

Tip 11: Munchies will make your mouth water
Of course, there are also many international fast food chains around Alexanderplatz. One logo stands out as an iconic shop among the endless choice. Munchies offers Mexican-American fast food and was founded in Berlin. What began in 2021 with a food truck soon led to its own shop in the Bergmannkiez neighbourhood. And now you can also enjoy smashed burgers, tacos and sandwiches at Alexanderplatz.
