From November 8 to 15, 2025, Berlin will host the first-ever Berlin Freedom Week—a new citywide festival dedicated to freedom, democracy, and human rights.

Marking the 36th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the city will become an international stage for committed voices, bold ideas, and shared visions.

What is Berlin Freedom Week?

Berlin stands like no other city in the world for freedom. With Berlin Freedom Week, a new festival emerges—celebrating democratic values, global alliances, and courageous initiatives. Conferences, cultural events, workshops, and interactive formats open up new spaces for dialogue, exchange, and participation.

The week is aimed at Berliners, national and international guests of all generations—and at everyone committed to a free and just world.

Organisations and institutions interested in participating in Berlin Freedom Week 2025 with their own events can submit their formats online here

Berlin Freedom Conference 2025

The central highlight of the week is the  Berlin Freedom Conference on 10 November 2025.  Leading voices from politics, business, education, media, culture, and civil society will come together to advance democratic change worldwide.

Attendees can expect inspiring keynotes and thought-provoking debates. The dialogues and talks will always focus on practical approaches - driving new partnerships and sparking actionable ideas.

Early Bird tickets are available until 14 September.

The conference is organised by visitBerlin in cooperation with the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation and the World Liberty Congress, the world’s largest pro-democracy alliance, and is generously supported by the LOTTO Foundation Berlin.
