Roses

Plush fabric and pictures of the Madonna

Right next to SO36, the traditional Kreuzberg club, part of the building façade glitters in bright silver, scattering sparkles onto Oranienstraße. This is where you'll find Roses, a legendary gay and lesbian bar. Small steep stairs lead to a door which when opened reveals a dreamland of pink plush walls, flashing Madonnas, and aquarium pictures with kitsch lighting opens up before you, with house music playing from the speakers.

Although this Berlin bar only has two small rooms, a visit to Roses is obligatory for all gay and lesbian visitors to Berlin. A mixture of locals, regulars, and international night-time revellers party wildly here until dawn.
