Ökomarkt am Kollwitzplatz

Fresh on the stall

Every Thursday, Kollwitzplatz is transformed into a lively, family-friendly paradise of culinary delights. Around 40 stalls tempt visitors with the very best the region has to offer: freshly harvested vegetables straight from the field, hearty Brandenburg cheese, fragrant Demeter bread and wholesome lunch options.

But the organic market is more than just a weekly shop – amongst fine natural cosmetics, hand-picked textiles and unique arts and crafts, you can really feel the true Berlin way of life and a love of nature here.

True to the motto ‘Harvested in the morning, sold at lunchtime’, the producers bring their seasonal produce straight to the neighbourhood. The range keeps up with the times: vegans and raw foodists will also find a varied selection. It is this wide range of genuine organic products that makes shopping here a mindful experience.

30 years of tradition: the grand anniversary programme

In 2026, the Ökomarkt am Kollwitzplatz will celebrate its 30th anniversary. As East Berlin’s oldest organic market, it has been an integral part of neighbourhood and cultural life in Prenzlauer Berg for three decades and is still largely organised by volunteers. This special anniversary will be celebrated in style from May to October:

Every Thursday from 12 noon to 7 pm , visitorscan look forward to a colourful anniversary programme right on the square. Alongside numerous guests and projects from the neighbourhood and across Berlin, small concerts, neighbourhood initiatives, hands-on activities and many more surprises will enrich the market atmosphere.
