Treffen junge Musikszene
The highlight of the ‘Treffen junge Musikszene’ is the public concert featuring the prize-winners. The jury has selected two bands, two trios and nine soloists as particularly noteworthy and exemplary for this year’s event; they will be performing on stage that evening.

Konzert der Preisträger*innen 2026
This year’s selection features a very young cohort and brings together musicians from major cities as well as from smaller towns and rural areas. This year, lyrics in German predominate.
The line-up impresses with its artistic originality; many of the musicians are multi-instrumentalists and produce their own tracks. Some of the talents stand out for their great stylistic diversity and an exceptionally high standard of songwriting. Genres represented include hip-hop and rap, singer-songwriter pop, indie pop, indie rock, punk, funk rock, electronic and ambient, new wave, as well as cross-genre and experimental approaches.
The tracks range from German-language chansons and pop ballads to English-language acoustic indie and modern productions with lo-fi, R&B and electronic influences.
In terms of content, the selected songs reflect the themes, questions and contradictions that preoccupy young people today. The musicians explore social developments, fears about the future and the search for direction. Feminist perspectives, self-determination, role models, manipulation and social injustices are addressed, as are climate and future-related issues. The content is often presented with humour or irony, or explored through macabre scenes.
At the same time, the focus is on very personal themes: friendship, love, disappointment, longing and the challenges of growing up. Other tracks explore the intense relationship with music itself and describe its inspiring, yet also all-consuming, power.
