Pascal Kosig was born in Birkenfeld an der Nahe in 1989. He has lived in Berlin since 2013, where he works as an author and social worker supporting the homeless and those struggling with addiction. Kosig is the father of two children. His publications to date include the poetry and illustrated collection *Trigger* (2012), the novel *Through the Mist, the World Always Looks Friendlier* (2015) and the short story collection *The Call of the Void* (2023).

In 2026, the novel "Wenn ein Königreich zerfällt" was published: what gives most people a sense of security and purpose fills him with fear: human contact. He uses cynicism and drugs to keep his social anxiety at bay – and his own feelings along with it. Following his break-up with his partner, he sets off on a journey of escape. Through a long Berlin night, on to Leipzig, Saarbrücken and the town of his childhood. The portrait of a man adrift, which raises the question: what remains when we turn our backs on passion and the quest for meaning?

The Periplaneta Bar Reading (TresenLesen): There’s reading and discussion. And drinking. It’s all about literature, art and the big questions. Entertaining, sometimes controversial and unpredictable in its dynamics.
