From 9 to 12 November 2026, the n.b.k. will present *A Kind of Power*, this year’s programme from Artists Film International (AFI’26). The programme is organised by Forma in London and curated in collaboration with 12 international arts organisations, which will present it worldwide.

The 19th edition of Artists Film International brings together artists and partner organisations from four continents and explores how power structures shape both the act of seeing and the conditions under which we are seen. At a time when images spread instantaneously across borders and surveillance increasingly shapes everyday life, the programme brings the relationship between the gaze and power to the fore. Whether it be protection, exposure, affirmation or denigration – the question of responsibility that accompanies every encounter between camera, subject and viewer arises throughout. Through exhibitions, film screenings and festivals throughout 2026, the selected works explore the politics of perception. At the same time, they propose forms of attention and collective presence that point towards alternative ways of seeing and making things visible.

Featuring works by Razia Akbari, Aqsa Arif, Alessandra Ferrini, Ira Goryainova, Kiyo Gutiérrez, Marte Hodne Haugen, Thaís Muniz, Ann Oren, Amaal Said, Mila Turajlić and Video News
