At the heart of the story is a boy caught between two cultures, who grows up in Braunschweig’s Weststadt district and finds his own voice through rap. As MC RENE, El Khazraje becomes a pioneer of German solo rap.
His musical rise is followed by periods of losing control and addiction, as well as a radical fresh start. The narrative ultimately leads back to Morocco and offers a personal perspective on family, memory and his own history.
The event is conceived as a literary evening and is not intended as a traditional rap show or a nostalgic hip-hop retrospective.
Selected passages from the book are supplemented by the author’s personal commentary. Depending on the event format, the reading may be expanded to include a discussion or musical excerpts from the album of the same name.
*Die ungestellte Antwort* was published in September 2026 by R95 Verlag. The book combines personal memories with social structures and follows in the tradition of autosociobiography.
