From ballroom culture to the asylum system, from mastectomy to lesbian bars, from heartbreak to summery desire, distinctive characters navigate the spectrum between queer pain and queer joy, speaking out for themselves. Complex, contradictory and, of course, queer. At times poetic, at times unsparing, now and then full of lightness – but always tender and strong.
