On 23 September, they are hosting the next THFxGESCHICHTE discussion: “A mutual perspective across the Atlantic: understanding Germany and the USA”
THFxGESCHICHTE, in collaboration with the BAB, is screening Billy Wilder’s cult film “One, Two, Three”. This whirlwind comedy set in Cold War-era Berlin was filmed, amongst other locations, at Tempelhof Airport and explores the political tensions between East and West.

Billy Wilder’s “One, Two, Three” is one of the most incisive films about Berlin during the Cold War. The 1961 comedy is set, amongst other locations, at Tempelhof Airport. Filming took place between June and September. The start of construction of the Berlin Wall posed a major challenge during this time.
James Cagney plays a Coca-Cola manager who must mediate between East and West, capitalism and communism, and a love story that is increasingly spiralling out of control.
With a brief introduction by Anna Kogenge, spokesperson for the Berlin Commissioner for Coming to Terms with the SED Dictatorship.
The event is being held in cooperation with the Berlin Commissioner for the reappraisal of the SED dictatorship (BAB).
