International Short Film Festival – SPECIALS
Named after Ursula K. Le Guin's novel, this program, with its six films, spans great geographical distances as well as metaphorical shores. Predominantly essay-like in their approach, they all examine how the past and present shape our view of landscapes and cityscapes, each in its own special way. How do we conceive of home and foreignness, the familiar and the unknown?
A selection that makes subjects like grief, resilience, reckoning with the past, exploitation, diaspora and colonialism tangible and creates encounters between diverse places and perspectives.
