International Short Film Festival – SPECIALS
Named after Ursula Le Guin’s novel, the six films in this programme span both vast geographical distances and metaphorical shores.
Mostly essayistic in nature, they all explore, in their own unique ways, how the past and present shape our perception of landscapes and cityscapes. How do people understand home and foreignness, the familiar and the unknown?
A selection that brings themes such as grief, resilience, coming to terms with the past, exploitation, diaspora and colonialism to life, and brings together different places and perspectives.
