Walking Tour on Colonial Remembrance: from Wilhelmstraße to the „Asian Pacific Streets“.

From Carillons to Sound Art – A city walk exploring tower carillons and sound art. Rediscover Berlin with your ears wide open!

What does Berlin sound like?

This walk follows the city’s acoustic soundtrack and takes you to three of its most distinctive carillons. Starting at the Gendarmenmarkt with the carillon in the French Cathedral, the route takes you past the historic Parochialkirche to St Nicholas’ Church.

Along the way, you’ll listen more closely and learn how sounds and noises shape life in the city and how these places have changed over time. The tour ends at St Nicholas’ Church and sets the scene for Annika Kahrs’ sound installation in the current special exhibition.

Meeting point:

  • Markgrafenstraße, 10117 Berlin-Mitte
  • in front of the French Cathedral
