Berlin Municipal Galleries Art Week

The joint initiative by the Kommunale Galerien Berlin has been an integral part of Berlin’s autumn season for many years. At the start of October, it will be hosting a ten-day festival programme for the thirteenth time.

Spanning all of Berlin’s districts, the art week serves as a platform for both emerging and established artists.

It brings together local perspectives with international voices and offers insights into current artistic and social discourses. Across 36 municipal galleries, 44 solo exhibitions and themed group shows featuring works by more than 150 artists are on display. The programme brings together diverse forms of artistic expression, media and curatorial approaches, allowing visitors to experience the rich diversity of Berlin’s art scene.

The programme kicks off with a grand opening party at ACUD MACHT NEU, featuring a performance by Selin Davasse, a concert by Carlo Karacho and a DJ set by Edna Martinez. The Young programme invites young art enthusiasts to take part in workshops that combine gallery visits with their own artistic creation.

To round off the event, guided tours offer the chance to visit several galleries in a single day and discover a variety of exhibitions.

Participation in all events is free of charge.

Supported by the Neukölln Department of Culture with funding from the Municipal Galleries Exhibition Fund of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion
