In the midst of a misty haze stands a bath. At first, it is unclear what is inside it, but slowly something begins to emerge from it. Fingers feel their way out; water drips from long hair; the sound of skin rubbing against acrylic becomes audible.

Coco Luna Watts’ solo piece *Ripple (back in)* takes the audience on an intense journey through an exploration of femininity. In a performance that leaves linear rationality behind.

The piece draws on fragments of childlike innocence and explores how these qualities are altered, distorted and co-opted in the process of growing up and coming of age as a woman. It asks how gentleness can be preserved and how, in a world that demands we fight, it can become a form of strength.

Coco Luna begins to unravelling the age-old narrative of wounded femininity, seeking a way to live with this open wound and to move through it. Having broken down familiar female archetypes, the performance reassembles their fragments and crafts a different image – one that reveals the complexity of female power in unexpected ways.
