An Evening Combining Hunting, Art, and Culinary Wilderness

An extraordinary evening awaits you at Grunewald Hunting Lodge, combining the fascination of red deer with cuisine, art, and hunting history. The stag—a symbol of strength, renewal, and the primal power of nature—takes center stage in a menu that brings to life its close connection to the forest, culture, and hunting.

The evening begins with an exclusive guided tour of the palace’s hunting and art exhibition. In the historic rooms, you’ll gain a fascinating insight into the centuries-old relationship between humans, wildlife, and art—from courtly hunting traditions to symbolic depictions of the stag.

Culinary delights take you on a journey through the forest landscape: game, mushrooms, herbs, and forgotten ingredients come together to create a multi-course menu full of character. From the first trail, through droppings, wallows, and the rutting season, all the way to the Black Forest, each course tells a chapter from the life of the red deer. The menu is accompanied by selected organic wines from small wineries, whose wines reflect the authenticity of their origins. Wine pairings and table water are included.

“Blackthorn & Red Deer” is a tribute to the king of the forest—an evening for all the senses that uniquely blends history and the present, hunting and art, as well as nature and fine cuisine.
