Insights into the Volunteers' Work
Every year, volunteers from the JugendBauhütte Berlin help preserve the Schöneweide rail depot. During the seminar weeks, the young people learn traditional craft techniques for restoring historic monuments.
At the open house at the rail depot, you can take guided tours to discover what the volunteers and experts have accomplished in recent years. In the locomotive shed, you’ll see the young people forging, woodturning, and glassblowing.
The association “Dampflokfreunde Berlin e.V.” invites you to marvel at and spend time with its historic trains. Refreshments and grilled sausages will be provided.
The open house is part of the Berlin Industrial Culture Festival.
