The Saubere Zeiten e.V. association collects items related to the history of Berlin’s street cleaning and garbage collection. The tour takes you through the grounds of the former Garde-Train Battalion, which was responsible for transportation for the Prussian Army.
Afterward, you’ll visit the historic workshop building of the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR), which was designed by architect Josef Paul Kleihues between 1970 and 1978. The association’s exhibition is housed there. In addition to showcasing the unique aspects of street cleaning, it features original vintage garbage collection vehicles.
As a special highlight, you’ll have the opportunity to take a look at the large vehicle collection.

The Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival offers you the chance to experience the city in a whole new way. From 12 September to 4 October, around 100 events will bring the visible and invisible heritage of industrialisation to life.
