Landmark & architectural masterpiece

In 1926, Berlin gained a masterpiece of engineering in the form of the Radio Tower, which remains a landmark of the city’s western districts to this day.

From here, international media history was made, and the city’s architectural avant-garde found a new playground for experimentation. Electricity, light, engineering, numerous green spaces, and new residential concepts fostered a new way of life that was no longer to be found in the historic city center but was pushing toward its outskirts. The yet-to-be-developed Westend was the new promise for freelancers (many of them artists), innovative entrepreneurs, and patrons of new urban architecture.

In addition to touring the newly renovated broadcasting tower, participants can explore its remarkable surroundings, where other historic buildings of outstanding quality from the 1920s have been preserved.

Berlin’s best architects of the time were challenged by entirely new construction projects to create remarkable works: for example, the Rundfunkhaus, the Deutschlandhaus, and various residential projects. The tour organizers have a wealth of diverse impressions in store for you.
