The current tour marks the 70th anniversary of the release of the global hit “Jailhouse Rock” and the film of the same name, which made Elvis Presley famous worldwide.
The production traces the most important milestones in the life and career of this exceptional artist, combining live music, acting, dance, and historical film footage into a tribute to one of the most influential figures in music history.
With more than a billion records sold, Elvis Presley is considered one of the most successful solo artists of all time. Born in 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, he rose to become an international superstar in the 1950s and emerged as a key figure in modern pop and rock music.
With songs like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Love Me Tender,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Suspicious Minds,” and numerous other hits, he shaped generations of musicians and continues to influence pop culture to this day.
The musical traces Presley’s life journey from his first musical steps through his breakthrough at Sun Records and his move to the RCA label, all the way to his spectacular Las Vegas shows and the globally broadcast concert “Aloha from Hawaii” in 1973.
It not only presents the musical highlights of his career but also sheds light on key turning points in his life and his evolution from a young musician to an international idol.
At the center of the production is Elvis impersonator Grahame Patrick. With his voice closely resembling the original, his stage presence, and the meticulously recreated costumes, he evokes the legendary entertainer and performs his most famous songs live on stage.
He is accompanied by singers, actors, and dancers, as well as a seven-piece live band that authentically presents Elvis Presley’s musical spectrum, ranging from gospel and blues to rock ’n’ roll.
The show’s repertoire includes numerous classics from various phases of the artist’s career.
In addition to well-known rock ’n’ roll hits, the show also features gospel pieces and ballads that highlight the diversity of his musical work.
The stage performance is complemented by choreography, dramatized scenes, and original film and photo material from the musician’s life.
The production’s historical references play a special role. Ed Enoch, a longtime companion of Elvis Presley, is part of the show. As the leader of the renowned gospel ensemble The Stamps Quartet, he shared the stage with Elvis at numerous concerts in the 1970s.
His participation lends the production an additional authentic perspective on the musician’s career.
In addition, historical recordings and photographs by former tour manager and concert photographer Ed Bonja are incorporated into the production.
Combining elements of a concert, musical, and biographical narrative, “ELVIS – The Musical” commemorates the life, work, and cultural significance of the “King of Rock ’n’ Roll.”
