»The dancer’s body unfolds in a space which is at once an inner and an outer space for him.«, wrote Michel Foucault in 1966. According to the philosopher, it is only through mirroring oneself that a person can grasp the full extent of their own form. The double solo follows this idea of parallel shifting: We do not stand only for ourselves, but also influence one another. Each of us shapes the life of the other and, to some extent, the world.
Two dancers in their own spaces, parallel to one another, neither isolated nor synchronised, yet constantly influencing each other – a crossing of space and time that allows for independence and transformation. The space in which we live is not a vacuum, but intersects with the stories and lives of others. According to Lucretius, things create their own visibility by emitting fine layers from their surfaces into space.

»Breaks run through the bodies and the dance, which seeps back into the soul, beautiful and unsettling, soft and virtuosic, cruel and hard.«
