To mark International Day for Biological Diversity, this tour through 800 years of German history explores how human activities have altered nature and biodiversity.
Through selected objects—such as a plaster potato, documents detailing a successful commons on Lake Constance, a motorcycle, or a model of a shovel excavator—the exhibition explores forms of land use, economic interests, and technical developments, as well as their impact on habitats.
The exhibition explores societies’ perspectives on nature as well as conservation measures and environmental ideologies within the respective political systems.
