The opera dolmuş of the Komische Oper Berlin comes to the Hahneberg Nature Conservation Station with "Kesin Dönüş - A Longing".

The singers from the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin together with three musicians (violin, double bass and bayan) explore a feeling of longing that moved not only contract and guest worker families for generations.

"Kesin Dönüş" or the definitive return to the homeland of one's parents or grandparents describes a universal feeling of restlessness, of not being welcome, of not arriving, but also of being welcomed, although one does not want to be welcomed.

The approximately 45-minute program features pieces from operas by Beethoven, Verdi and Offenbach, but also new interpretations of well-known Turkish folk songs.

The opera dolmuş is a musical theater performance in a minibus setting: two singers and three musicians as well as a moderator travel specifically to neighborhoods in which a particularly large number of citizens of different cultural origins live, and demonstrate through musical, artistic and personal encounters that musical theater speaks a universally understandable language.

Shaped for centuries by intercultural exchange, music theater at the same time has the power, through music, to make feelings and experiences across the borders of individual cultures tangible and tangible. Since its founding in 1947, the Komische Oper Berlin has made this openness one of its principles: it sees itself as an opera "for all".
