Migrant Travesti Art from Peru
In this performance, FRAU DIAMANDA presents her multidisciplinary book project Catalan Scenes – a radical, poetic ‘sexual anti-diary’ from the perspective of a transvestite migrant from Peru in Europe.
Spoken word and performance combine to create a dense atmosphere in which transvestism is not the object of observation, but becomes the perspective itself. As a practice of resistance, it links questions of racialisation, migration, class, self-staging and neo-colonial gazes.
