Lichtenberger Winterzeit

Christmas Market in Berlin from 1 November to 28 December 2024

Thrills instead of contemplation: the Christmas Market Landsberger Allee is great fun for the whole family with a number of carousels and rides. With colourful flashing lights, the air is filled with screeching and shouting and the atmosphere is high-spirited.

You can see the glittering lights of the Winterzauber rides from afar. This Christmas market and funfair on Landsberger Allee attracts visitors with its many festive attractions and stalls covering an area of 20,000 square metres.

Adventure and thrills at the Christmas market

Rides and stands for all ages promise action and entertainment. Classics include throwing and shooting galleries, carousels, roller coasters, a hall of mirrors and bumper cars. Highlights are the 80-metre-high swing carousel and the huge Christmas pyramid. The Chaos-Air-Port is a unique fun house. It is a varied obstacle course with a hall of mirrors and smoke chamber, where the floor is pulled away from under your feet.
Afterwards you can relax in the cosy Berlin village with seating areas and fireplaces.

You can also satisfy your hunger with popular Christmas market classics such as Krakauer sausage, kale and mulled wine. You will of course also find sweet treats such as roasted almonds, candy apples and candy floss at the stalls.

A carnival with a long tradition

The Christmas carnival on Landsberger Allee is the successor to the popular Wintertraum am Alexa. It is the oldest Christmas market with fairground rides in East Berlin. The tradition of the Christmas market with fairground rides goes back a hundred years. The oldest one was held in the 1920s at Berlin Cathedral with various rides. Later, the showmen set up their stalls at Jannowitzbrücke, Schlossplatz and Platz der Vereinten Nationen.

It all began in 1920 at the Lustgarten in Mitte, where there was already a wooden carousel and a wooden rollercoaster. After several stops at Schlossplatz, Alexanderplatz, the Planetarium, Platz der Vereinten Nationen and Alexa, the market has now moved to Landsberger Allee.
