Hidden workshop Christmas market
Christmas market in Berlin on 20 November 2025
An insider tip for the run-up to Christmas: a magical workshop Christmas market will open its doors for just one day on 20 November in an inconspicuous side street in Alt-Reinickendorf. The halls of the social enterprise "Der Steg" will be festive - a place to discover, browse and marvel, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big markets.
If you love authentic arts and crafts, this is the place to be at Christmas time : hand-felted accessories, stationery, self-sewn fabric creations and Christmas decorations - all lovingly made by the workshop employees. The special atmosphere is created by the combination of workshop charm, handmade products and a social concept.
In addition to creative stalls, visitors can also look forward to small culinary highlights: homemade cakes, hot drinks and savoury snacks invite you to linger. The market is perfect for anyone looking for a personalised gift or simply wanting to experience a quiet, relaxed Christmas moment.

Der Steg: a real workshop Christmas market
"Der Steg" is a non-profit organisation in Berlin that supports people with mental disabilities. In various workshops, such as the "Papierstraße", those affected receive structured daily programmes and employment opportunities. Handmade products are created there with great care and creativity - for example from paper, fabric or other materials. The workshop offers space for participation, community and meaningful work: values that are also reflected at the workshop Christmas market.
Tips for your visit to the Hidden Workshop Christmas Market
Use your visit to the Alt-Reinickendorf district for a short walk through the historic neighbourhood. The Schäfersee lake and Lübars leisure park are very close by. For culinary breaks, we recommend a visit to the cosy "Alte Backstube" café nearby or a detour to the Dominikus Hospital with its chapel, which is well worth a visit.
