Florida Eis

Berlin’s love of ice cream: a story with a history

It all began with a drum-style ice cream machine, which in 1927 provided cinema-goers with cold, spherical treats in the foyer of the Concordia cinema in Berlin-Spandau.

In 1985, the ice-cream parlour – which had survived the destruction of the city during the Second World War – became a proper ice-cream factory, and Florida Eis was born. According to the company, production is based on traditional craftsmanship.

Florida Eis states that its production process utilises photovoltaic technology, amongst other things, and recycles the waste heat from the refrigeration units. A pellet heating system is also used. According to the company, the ice cream sundaes are delivered within Berlin using electric vehicles.

In this way, Florida Eis combines Berlin’s traditional craftsmanship with modern production – and, above all, with plenty of ice cream enjoyment.

Florida Eis is perfect for any time of year, as the range includes not only summer classics such as Cherry Chocolate Chip and Crème Holunder, but also timeless creations such as Vanilla, Double Chocolate, Latte Macchiato and Caramel. In winter , flavours such as Spekulatius, Baked Apple, Almond Marzipan and Whisky Cream are added to the range. It almost goes without saying that many of the flavours are vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free .
