Franz Schubert's Winter Journey is one of the greatest works of art of the Romantic era. In the Wolf-Ferrari Ensemble's concert, it does not sound in the original, but rather music and text enter into a dialogue without the mediation of a singing voice. Wilhelm Müller's poems are recited alternating with Schubert's brilliant song settings, which are presented in the form of purely instrumental arrangements from the 19th century or the ensemble's own arrangements.
Text and music can be perceived separately from each other, but remain in a common, stimulating environment and form a new connection. In the concert, the Wolf-Ferrari Ensemble presents its CD recording with the legendary actor and speaker Jürgen Thormann.
