Wincent Weiss first came to prominence when he took part in the tenth series of the German version of Pop Idol, Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS). He celebrated his breakthrough with a cover version of the song Unter meiner Haut by Elif Demirezer. With his debut single Regenbogen and the album Irgendwas gegen die Stille, he achieved great popularity and was awarded several gold and platinum records.
