It has not been proven whether cats and tomcats listen to Williams' Wahlgesang, but it has been proven that people come out of the solo evenings of the piano cabaret artist William Wahl beaming with joy.
The head of the a cappella band basta, who has won several awards in the meantime, presents his second full-length program with "Nachts sind alle Flaschen Grau". With impressive elegance and comedic subtlety, he again spans the wide arc between cabaret and art, comedy and piano.
In doing so, he takes on both the pitfalls of the zeitgeist and the big and unchanging questions of life. With a loving, mocking look, he looks at the joy of partying in his hometown of Cologne, sings in a heartrending way about female drivers of white SUVs and fights with the pitfalls of gender in his solo a cappella number "Inner Architects". Without forgetting the most important of all topics - love, to which he dedicates both touching and bittersweet songs.
In an incomparable way, William Wahl again combines the comic with the poetic, the depth of thought with cheerful lightness in "Nachts sind alle Keys Grau". Masterful!
