Friedrich Hollaender Revue

‘The Great Little Friedrich’ Hollaender was a man of many talents: composer, lyricist, conductor, cabaret director and pianist. He took a stand against the era known as the Golden Twenties, which led straight into the Brown Thirties – whether with his ‘Songs of a Poor Girl’, the feminist anthem ‘Get the men out of the Reichstag!’ or popular hits such as ‘I’m ready for love from head to toe’.

Because of his courageous anti-Hitler revues, he was forced to flee at an early stage and went on to write hits from Hollywood for Bing Crosby and Marlene Dietrich, and after the war for Billy Wilder’s *One, Two, Three* and *The Haunted Castle in the Spessart*…

A journey through Hollaender’s life and music with Julie Wolff (vocals), Judith Kessler (narrator), Jotham Bleiberg (trumpet) and Max Doehlemann (piano).
