What happens when a little mermaid reimagines her own story? UNDINI Uncut is a contemporary shadow theater piece for young audiences that reinterprets Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale from a queer perspective.

Three performers weave together circus, dance, drag, and live music into a poetic, visual world in which the mermaid Undini embarks on a journey through shadows, the sea, and the search for identity.
The production first enchants with classic fairy-tale imagery—and then, with humor and contemporary elements, begins to deconstruct and reexamine the original narrative structure. It explores themes such as belonging, friendship, and queer self-determination: educational without being didactic, sensitive, and empowering.
UNDINI Uncut creates a space where young audiences can playfully question gender roles, their own perspectives, and experiences—poetically, humorously, and full of bubbles.
