Django Reinhardt and French Jazz, 1940-1960
The Trichrome Trio, led by Nesin Howannesijan (bass) with Benedikt Jahnel on piano and Diego Pinera on drums, is characterized by exceptionally complex rhythmic and melodic structures. Three great musicians will interweave their own compositions this evening with the compositions of some French jazz pianists who were active between 1940 and 1960. These include Martial Solal, André Persiani, Raymond Fol, Eddie Barclay, Claude Bolling, Michel Legrand, Bernard Pfeiffer, Alain Goraguer, René Urtreger and - last but not least - a woman!
