You could call it danceable melancholy. Stylistically, Trentemøller weaves electro with shoegaze, synth-pop, and dream pop, sometimes instrumental, sometimes featuring handpicked guest vocalists. His powerful album “Dreamweaver,” released in 2024, lives up to its name. It’s dreamlike and beautiful, built on an atmospheric, dreamy sound that can, however, quickly tip into darkness (as in “Nightfall” featuring singer Dísa, who appears on eight of the ten tracks). “I Give My Tears,” on the other hand, is noisy and psychedelic—the perfect soundtrack to an illuminating nightmare.
His live concerts are particularly captivating because Trentemøller doesn’t just rely on atmospheric lighting and visuals, but also always brings a band that can perfectly capture the nuances of his music on stage. When he comes to Berlin for a concert in February and March 2027, he will be accompanied by Emma Acs (vocals and synthesizer), Silas Tinglef (drums), Brian Batz (guitar), Jacob Haubjerg (bass and guitar), and, of course, Anders Trentemøller (synthesizer).
