In Duke Ellington’s tradition of assembling performers with unique talents to create interesting sound worlds, she has selected musicians who each have a distinctive voice. Equally versed in jazz and improvisation, they share a deep appreciation for Ellington’s music, life, and legacy.
Part of the program was co-commissioned by the Pierre Boulez Saal and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
