Time & Temporality

How do people perceive time and how do they talk about it? Is time relative? How do they reflect on time through objects? Can time be wasted?

Conceptions of time are shaped by the social and cultural environment, but also depend on individual factors. The way people measure and structure time is also determined by social and cultural norms as well as personal experiences. Conceptions of time are passed on through stories and memories, but also through objects.

The ‘DenkRaum Zeit & Zeitlichkeit’ invites you to explore and help shape the themed areas. Or simply to spend some time there.

It is open on Thursdays from 12 noon to 8 pm and on Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm.

Cultures – Research – Objects – Knowledge

The Dahlem Research Campus (FC Dahlem) is a new research and exhibition venue run by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK). Here, various areas of expertise are brought together to develop and showcase knowledge about tangible and intangible cultures. The focus is on transparent research processes and the involvement of diverse stakeholder groups. The guiding principles ‘Cultures – Research – Objects – Knowledge’ reflect the work carried out here. We promote equal collaboration and are committed to breaking down hierarchies of knowledge.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
