Transatlantic relations between Germany and the US are currently strained. If opinion polls are to be believed, a majority of Germans currently have a rather negative view of America. The American view of Germany, too, has tended to deteriorate of late.

It is time to talk about this. Together with our guests, Volker Depkat and Edward Cox, we also want to discuss the long historical development of how each side views the other across the Atlantic: the Germans’ view of America and the Americans’ view of Germany.
