The Michael Kossow Collection (1)
Over the course of roughly five decades, he has assembled an impressive and high-caliber collection and is now offering the public a first glimpse into it with approximately 170 exhibits.
One of his main focuses is on German manufactured ceramics from the first half of the
20th century, which makes up a large part of the exhibition now on view at the Ceramics Museum for one year.
Among them are works by artists such as Charles Crodel, Hedwig Bollhagen, Eva Stricker-Zeisel, Ursula Fesca, and the recently deceased Heidi Manthey, as well as by Gerhard Marcks and the Bauhaus ceramists Theodor Bogler and Werner Burri.
As the long-time chairman of the KMB Friends Association, Michael Kossow also volunteers on Saturdays to help run the museum and is happy to share his extensive knowledge of ceramic history with visitors.
