Klangwerkstatt Berlin 2023

With the Berlin ensemble mosaik and the Spanish saxophone quartet Klexos, two ensembles of very different instrumentation and generations meet. They are united by their common interest in cross-border, multimedia and performative concert formats.

At the centre is the multidisciplinary ensemble piece Plasma (2023) by the Spanish composer Pedro González Fernández, created for both ensembles. In a playful way, it comments on hierarchies, competition and selection processes in the context of contemporary music performance.

Both ensembles will also bring current pieces from their own repertoire: mosaik Your smartest choice (2017) by Huihui Cheng and noise is a common sound II (2018) by Andreas Eduardo Frank, Klexo's Amigos imaginarios (2023) by Manuel Rodríguez Valenzuela and Sed Libera (2022) by Marisol Jiménez.
