A musical theatre piece about freedom, the body and resistance – exploring the interplay between sound, movement and political reality.

Stiletto – Opera Nova focuses on the human body as a place of freedom, control and self-determination.

Drawing on the experiences of the Iranian-German composer Fojan Gharibnejad, the work combines music, performance and space to create a new form of musical theatre.

The ambiguous term ‘stiletto’ – referring both to an elegant high-heeled shoe and a historical stabbing weapon – serves as the starting point for a multi-layered exploration of power, gender roles and societal constructs.

*Stiletto – Opera Nova* does not view freedom as a given state, but as a fragile, ongoing process – and from this develops a powerful, highly topical artistic perspective on the present day.

Following its world premiere on 27 November 2026 at the Labortheater Dresden, Stiletto – Opera Nova comes to the Theater im Delphi for its Berlin premiere.
