Stacey Kent is a jazz singer in the history of the greats, with a multitude of awards and accolades, including a Grammy nomination, album sales of over 2 million, gold, double gold and platinum albums that have reached a number of No. 1 chart positions throughout her career. At first, it didn't look like a singing career for the U.S. native when she pursued a degree in comparative literature.

But Kent, who had been singing and taking piano lessons since childhood found herself in London by some twist of fate and went through the Guildhall School of Music.
