What makes a spell?
What if we imagine spells to be more than enchantments that can entice and control someone? Can spells be reconceptualised as tools of collective liberation if we explore their ability to conjure up idiosyncratic images, sounds, words and actions that can mobile the body from a state of freeze or shutdown into action?
Spells Against Fears is a physical theatre piece between auto-fiction and quantum dreaming by five women. Together they journey into the heart of fear to
map its shape - collective & individual - and find passages across it, so when the night falls and light goes out, they can find the courage to move.
