The piece "Spark" explores individuality, passion, and the resulting commonalities. The content, which primarily draws from the artists' personal experiences and everyday lives, was creatively translated into dance.

The focus is on interpersonal relationships, external influences on the individual, and the joy of dancing. It addresses questions such as: How can one express oneself? How does communication work? What role does dance play in this?

The original work was a short, five-minute excerpt, which was first shown at Takao Baba's performance session at tanzhaus nrw. Subsequently, further ideas for continuing the piece emerged. The artists experimented with different dance styles, resulting in several parts that were ultimately combined into a whole – a fusion of different experiences and dance styles.

An important aspect is communication among the artists, which is expressed through dance. Music plays a central role in this, as it connects people and enables nonverbal communication. For the artists, dance must be connected to music, which is why each song in the piece was chosen based on whether it touched everyone equally and triggered something in them.

The title "Spark" refers to the spark that was the focus at the beginning of the rehearsals – the feeling of enthusiasm, motivation, and passion. This spark symbolizes the drive to immerse yourself in something and to be there with energy. Even if this spark sometimes seems lost, it always remains and represents trust.

"Spark" is about all of these aspects and more.
