Her songs were written over decades—sometimes born of longing and moments of solitude, other times of movement and encounters. Full of Berlin wit, intimacy, melancholy, and warmth, chanson meets jazz and poetry meets groove.
The singer is accompanied by the very same musicians with whom she recorded a CD and performed numerous concerts fifteen years ago.
But “Child of This City” is by no means merely a nostalgic look back; rather, it is a powerful statement about the present. One evening. One city. The here and now.
