Case No. 3
Séances are held regularly at the von Löwenstein couple’s home. During one of these spiritualist gatherings, emotions run particularly high, and the next morning the hostess is found lifeless. The police assume the cause of death was ‘natural’, but suspicions of foul play soon arise – raised by two ladies whose criminal investigative instincts have led them to form a close friendship and who are widely known for their formidable success in solving cases. Yet the possible motive and the presumed sequence of events appear to be shrouded in the imaginary veil of the occult.
