The film is a collaboration between Karim Aïnouz and MUBI, The Match Factory, Kavac Film, The Apartment (A Fremantle Company), SUR FILM, Crybaby, and Gold Rush Pictures.

The film stars:

Callum Turner (MASTERS OF THE AIR, THE BOYS IN THE BOAT), Riley Keough (DAISY JONES & THE SIX, ZOLA), Jamie Bell (ALL OF US STRANGERS, ROCKETMAN), Lukas Gage (THE WHITE LOTUS, EUPHORIA), Elena Anaya (THE SKIN I LIVE IN, MOTHERFATHERSON), and Tracy Letts (LADY BIRD, LE MANS 66). Other roles are played by Elle Fanning (SENTIMENTAL VALUE, LIKE A COMPLETE UNKNOWN) and Pamela Anderson (THE LAST SHOWGIRL, THE NAKED GUN).

Plot:

In an opulent and secluded villa under the Catalan sun, American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna, and Robert revel in their inherited fortune. They ignore the demands of their blind father and seek love and validation in each other and in their latest designer clothes. When the eldest brother Jack, the linchpin of the family, announces that he is moving in with his girlfriend Martha, the close family ties are torn apart and Ed begins to uncover the truth about their mother's death. Gradually, intergenerational lies begin to unravel and the delicate fabric that still holds the family together threatens to disintegrate.


ROSEBUSH PRUNING from award-winning director Karim Aïnouz is a biting contemporary satire about the absurdity of the traditional patriarchal family, starring Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Elena Anaya, Tracy Letts, Elle Fanning, and Pamela Anderson.


The screenplay is by Efthimis Filippou (KINDS OF KINDNESS, THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER, THE LOBSTER).


The creative team includes Barbara Kreuzer (hair & makeup, LAND OF MINE, I'M YOUR MAN), Oscar®-nominated costume designer Bina Daigeler (TÁR, MOTHER MARY), production designer Rodrigo Martirena (THE LONGING OF THE GUSMÃO SISTERS, VERDICT), and editors Heike Parplies (THE LONGING OF THE GUSMÃO SISTERS, FIREBRAND), BFS, David Jancso (THE BRUTALIST, MONKEY MAN), ACE Ilka Janka Nagy (THE BRUTALIST, MONKEY MAN), HSE.

The cinematographer was Hélène Louvart (THE LONGING OF THE GUSMÃO SISTERS, FIREBRAND, MOTEL DESTINO), who has worked with Aïnouz on several occasions.
