Presented by Marc C. Behrens and Roland Trescher

The RAMPENSAU Festival presents eight virtuoso stage animals. Solo. With no safety net or backup plan. Top dog, bird of paradise, chameleon. You’ll laugh. You’ll probably be amazed. Maybe you’ll cry. And in the end, you won’t believe that all of this just happened right before your eyes.

A Rampensau seizes the moment, fills the space, and has the audience on the edge of their seats.

The two-day, interdisciplinary festival at the Pfefferberg Theater is dedicated to solo improvisation in all its forms—theater, dance, music, circus, performance. What unites the artists:

They take the stage without knowing what’s to come. 30 minutes, one performance, one audience, and everything born of the moment.

The result is poetic or absurd, virtuosic or fragile, funny or moving—and exists only here and now. Plus workshops, lobby activities, spontaneous encounters, and an open community stage to which everyone is invited.

The RAMPENSAU Festival doesn’t promise a perfect performance. Perfection can be rehearsed. This festival is something you have to experience. Two days of improvisation at the highest level. And the very best part: It’s happening right now. Just this once. Just for you.
