“There are now plenty of books about what liberal anti-war activists think about Russia, Putin and the war – in all sorts of languages. To me, however, it seemed both interesting and right to tell this story once in the words of Putin’s supporters and those in favour of the war themselves.

The Z-channels have joined forces to record a chronicle of this war that is anything but glorious – and, at the same time, a chronicle of the state’s decline. However, they were unable to draw the right conclusions from their own reflections. Well then – I’ve simply done that for them.”
“Putin’s Russia versus Putin” tells the story of how Putin’s Russia functions. The starting point is primarily the army, its problems and difficulties – yet the picture is much broader than the events on the front line alone. It is an important snapshot of our times.
