Noa Eshkol considered dance to be a pure, independent art form, without sets, costumes or music. She treated the various parts of the human body as separate instruments, similar to the musical instruments of an orchestra - each with its own rules for the movements to be performed.

The Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group
Noa Eshkol's compositions rely, among other things, on seriality and the polyphonic forms of the canon or fugue. She used these forms to achieve polyphony between the different body parts of the individual dancers and the members of the group. With her profound understanding of the body, her dedication to methodical composition and her inexhaustible creativity, she created unique, complex and fascinating masterpieces.
The Chamber Dance Group's performances consist of the basic element of dance: the movement of the human body.
The Chamber Dance Group (originally "The Chamber Dance Quartet") was founded in 1954 by Noa Eshkol (b. 1924, PS - †2007, IL) to perform her choreographies developed using the Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation (EWMN). Eshkol herself danced with the group until the late 1950s, before increasingly focusing on developing the EWMN, choreographing and teaching her dance pieces.
Since her death, the group has performed under the name "The Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group." Members include Rachaeli Nul Kahana, a dancer from the first hour, as well as the newly added dancers Mor Bashan, Noga Goral and Dror Shoval.
