Gregorian chants from the convent

For over a thousand years, Gregorian melodies have influenced countless composers. They carry on Eastern traditions without denying their roots. Ever since texts in the vernacular found their way into Christian liturgies, new Gregorian compositions have emerged, adopting the melodic and tonal structure of the ancient masterpieces. In this NoonSong, they are sung exclusively by women, as was customary in nunneries.
